The 2013 Inauguration of President Barack Obama was a time of great unity, moving speeches-and great fashion! First Lady Michelle Obama, along with other prominent women, were the epitome of style during this historic day.
Obama wowed everyone in her red Jason Wu dress. The designer is a favorite of hers ( he designed her last inaugural gown in 2009). She showed off the gown at the numerous inaugural balls, including the Inaugural Ball and the Commander-in-Chief-Ball, where the Obamas both danced with veterans.
Before the evening balls, she wore a navy Thom Browne coat during the inauguration. The Pennsylvania-born designer who mostly designed for men until 2010 is certain to become a household name now that Obama has worn his necktie-inspired coat on the nation’s largest stage.
Not only is Mrs. Obama fashionable, but her daughters are, too! Malia and Sasha looked adorable. Malia wore a magenta J. Crew coat and Sasha wore a purple Kate Spade coat.
Even though it was 40 degrees, Beyonce made sure everyone in Washington saw her beautiful chiffon beaded Emilio Pucci dress while she sang the national anthem.
The Second Lady is first in fashion! While dancing with Vice President Joe Biden, Dr. Jill Biden looked radiant in her strapless red Reem Acra dress.
